Intro
Making plans in Turkey, especially when you’re working with civil society is never a good idea. Because the plan I mentioned last week changed in a major way and turned into a mini Turkey tour for me. After İstanbul, I arrived to İzmir on Monday afternoon and will be flying to Ankara tonight. And that’s why I’m posting this week’s Weekstarter on Wednesday.

- While traveling for the workshop for this ongoing project, I’m also doing my best to not to fall behind on other things because there is so many things going on at the same time.

(Almost) Everyone I Work With is Twelve
If you’re sufficiently online, you’ve probably come across the “everyone is twelve now” meme. Sure, it’s a meme so you don’t need to take it too seriously but on the other hand, it explains so much about the things we see all around us.
But the reason I’ve been thinking about that meme is not something I’ve seen online but the ones in my professional life. Unfortunately, I’ve been forced to deal with so many people who should be acting like responsible adults but making me feel like I’m dealing with bunch of twelve years old kids. I’m not saying that they should let the adults take control, but I’m also not not saying that because I’ve had enough of important works and projects turning into energy drains because people can’t do anything professionally. I don’t want to deal with people who only take their work seriously until the budget or the project is approved and then let everything turn into a mess. I just want to do my job without thinking about whether the organizing part did the most basic parts of their work.
That’s why I need some real adults or anyone who takes their work seriously to work with. I need some professional people in my professional life.
