Intro
Well, I was not expecting to have such a long break from the blog. Health stuff, personal things and a general need for taking a step back was the main reasons behind the unannounced break — which is something I later realized I actually needed. But it’s time to return.

From the Notebook
Trying something different this week. Instead of one single piece of writing, I’m going to share several notes I took during the last week. Which may or may not be connected to each other.
Monday
People love to talk about protecting kids online and try to ban them from the platforms — with a really high failure rate. But I think the real problem we should focus on is the adults who are completely losing it with the help of the internet. You know the kind, who always looks for a fight or someone to target online. Who enjoys being miserable and making others like themselves.
Like the one I caught today with my keyword feeds. Who thinks that using some theory in-between his insults and below the belt attacks will make him a critic. And doesn’t realize that spending his time to write a really long blog post (like I mean really long) just to insult and personally attack me and our NGO while barely trying to make it look like theoretical criticism makes him look desperate and someone who needs help.
Thursday
While chatting with Jay Springett, he made a really important point. We’re obviously entering the post-social era and what most smart people are doing it just focusing on their own thing. To paraphrase him: “Folks doesn’t care about the discourse, heads down doing whatever they want.”
This explains so many things about the current situation of the platforms and my growing distance to them.
Sunday
Since I’m alone at the house these days, I open the TV to just to have a background noise or visual time to time. Today, I switched to CNBC-E and they were airing Jacob Collier’s Baloise Session concert so I decided to stick with it. I really like his music and creativity but what made me drop everything and watch the concert with full focus was his energy and joy. It was contagious. I actually felt a lot better and filled with energy when it ended.
Which made me realize that’s the common point with many people I actually admire their work and look up to motivate myself. They actually enjoy doing things, you can feel their energy from their work or see it in their face. That’s the kind of people I want to be and that’s the kind of people I want to surround myself with. I’m already a professional abyss-looker, why make things more miserable to myself?
